Hassan Ahmad appointed to state board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Hassan Ahmad of Dearborn Heights and the reappointment of Karen Greenwood of Troy to the Michigan Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons.
The nine-member board, housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, oversees the licensure and practice of real estate brokers and salespersons in Michigan.
“Hassan and Karen are hard working professionals, and I thank them for donating their time to this board and using their knowledge of real estate to represent their colleges,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Ahmad is an associate broker for Re/Max Leading Edge. He serves on the board of directors for the Dearborn Area Board of Realtors, as a Re/Max Ambassador to the Children’s Miracle Network and as a member of the city of Dearborn Heights Tax Appeal Board. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Oakland University and a master’s degree in business administration and global management from the University of Phoenix. He will represent professionals and replace Samuel Sterk.
Reappointment:
Greenwood is a realtor with Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel and previously worked with Banker Scweitzer and EnecoTech Midwest. She holds an associate degree in business administration from New Hampshire Technical Institute, a bachelor’s degree in marketing and accounting from Southern New Hampshire University and a master’s degree in business administration from Davenport University. She will continue to represent professionals.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring June 30, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
