Amazon to build a distribution center in Shelby Township
Amazon is planning to build a 1-million square-foot distribution center in Shelby Township, Michigan. The project is expected to create 1,000 jobs, according to amazon.com Inc.
Local media reported in July that Amazon was eyeing the former Visteon Corp. auto parts pant on 23 Mile and Mound Roads.
Amazon is also looking to create a second headquarters, an investment of $55 billion and a creation of 50,000 jobs. Several cities are vying for the headquarters, including Detroit. No decision has been made.
