Community honors two renown doctors, Bydon brothers

The Arab-American community honored Saturday Dr. Ali Bydon and Mohamad Bydon, two of its Dearborn natives sons for their achievements in medicine. They are from the Beydoun family and they spell their names as Bydon.

Dr. Ali Bydon, a professor of neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, talked about the achievement of neurosurgeries in general and the success of Lebanese immigrants worldwide. Click here more to learn about Dr. Ali Bydon.

Dr. Mohamad Bydon, the medical director of the Mayo Clinic Neurosurgical Biobank and Clinical Registry, made a very powerful presentation about his research in treating spinal cord injuries. Click here to learn more about Dr. Mohamad Bydon.

He made history last November with his medical breakthrough with stem cell research when he treated a paralyzed man from the neck down. After several months of treatment, the man was able to walk. The segment was aired on ABC, Good Morning America.
